William Clarke Quantrill, then posing as a jayhawker, joins with five abolitionists to raid and liberate slaves from a farm owned by Morgan Walker in Jackson County, Missouri. Prior to the raid, Quantrill tips off Walker in exchange for being spared, but the other abolitionists are killed. From this point, Quantrill becomes one of the most-feared and notorious proslavery bushwhackers in Missouri.
