One hundred Missouri bushwhackers-turned-bank robbers, led by guerrilla Archie Clement, occupy Lexington in opposition to Radical Republican actions against Missouri secessionists. Clement is killed in a gunfight with state militia at a Lexington bar. The wounded Clement dies while purportedly trying to cock his gun with his teeth.
